Obituary of Christopher A. Martin

Christopher A. Martin, 63 of Utica, passed away, Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at his home. He was born on July 6, 1961, a son of Donald L. and Grace Louise (Christopher) Martin. He graduated from Whitesboro High School and studied at (MVCC) Mohawk Valley Community College. He served his country in the United Sate Air Force in the U.S. and Korea, before being station and later discharged from the Lakeland Air Force Base, TX.

Chris lived in Texas for several years before returning to the Utica area. He enjoyed bowling, lacrosse, was a fan of the NY Giants, Syracuse University, loved dogs and the companionship and loyalty they brought to him. He was an excellent “Pitmaster” skilled at cooking, smoking and barbecuing.

Chris worked as an Independent Information Technology and Services Professional.

Surviving is his mother, Grace Martin of Whitesboro; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Christopher and Mayra Martin, Anthony Martin; grandchildren, Camila and Rook all of Arlington, TX; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lori and Ken Tedesco of New Hartford, Cindy Martin of Whitesboro; nieces and nephews, John and Annie DeTraglia of New Hartford, Ashleigh Tedesco and her wife, Lynn Brooks and sons, Matteo and Jake  of Utica, Nino Tedesco and his fiancé Maggie Whitley and son Roman of New Hartford; childhood and close friend, Brian Kolek, his wife Barbara, and their children Brittany and Brandon, of Utica; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; Joe Cerini and Jeff Schreck.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald L. Martin.

Services with Military Honors, will be held Monday evening, March 3, 2025, at 7:00 pm from the R.P. Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton, NY 13323.  

Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5 to 7 pm prior to the service.

Interment with his father will be held at Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
