Rose Mary “Rosie” Ingalls, 78, unexpectedly passed away on July 7, 2025. She was the eldest daughter of the late Robert Crane and Elva Crane (Bean).

Rosie was born at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica, New York on May 29, 1947. She was raised in the Village of Clinton until the age of 10 before moving with her family to the rolling hills of Oriskany Falls (Knoxboro). Graduating from Madison Central School in 1965, Rosie worked at Sherwood Medical (Cheeseborough Ponds) for 22 years, finishing her full-time career at Hamilton College as a payroll specialist in 2011. She was married to Newton C. Ingalls for 27 years until his death in 2002.

Rosie did not stop working even after retiring. In fact, “retirement” wasn’t in her vocabulary. She kept busy by busting tables at the Sangerfield Inn, The White Eagle, Dibbles Inn, and for anyone who needed her waitress, charismatic abilities. Her final big hoo-rah in life was transporting vehicles for Friendly Ford in Hamilton – especially that 2025 Mustang she recently drove in Hamilton’s 4th of July Parade.

Her energetic, vivacious personality could light up any room, often with boisterous commentary to follow and could make friends with anyone she came in contact with. Some of her well-known accomplishments were being crowned Madison Central’s “Best Dancer”; bowling an almost-perfect score of 298; winning the annual dance contest with her best friend, Joanne Metz, at the company clambake; cruising throughout the Caribbean; and frequenting Las Vegas throughout the years. On any given night, one could find her at the Turning Stone or the Racino, raking up the bucks on any slot or playing bingo with her dear friend, Liz Cooper. But most importantly, Rosie loved her kids and her precious “grand dog” Gunner, who was/is indeed ‘the best dog in the world.’

Rosie leaves behind her three children, Bruce Sansone, Jr. of Vernon Center, NY, Eileen (Kevin) Kolek of New Hartford, NY and Theresa Ingalls of Sanford, FL; two stepsons, Thomas (Julie) Ingalls of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Newton (Bonnie) Ingalls of Amelia Island, FL; one sister, Colleen (Dennis) Baldwin of Waterville, NY; three brothers, Jack (Stephanie) Crane of Oneida, NY and her twin brothers, Robert and Ray Crane of Oriskany Falls, NY; five grandchildren, Shania Terrell, Bryce Sansone, Jeffrey Kolek, Matthew Kolek and Rorie Kolek; her uncle, Mike (Mary) Crane of Clinton, NY; multiple cousins, nieces and nephews; her companion, Tom Peters; and a boat load of friends and acquaintances.

She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Elva Crane and her eldest brother, Richard Crane.

Please consider making a donation to your local humane society or the ASPCA in her memory.
