Walter R. "Sonny" Savicki Obituary

Walter R. (Sonny) Savicki, 91 of Clinton, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Waterville Residential Center. He was born June 22, 1934 in Utica, son of the late Edward and Mary (Wisniewski) Savicki. 



Walter was raised in Clinton, graduated from Clinton High School Class of 1952, and continued his studies at Cornell. He was a hard-working farmer all his life and along with his brothers continued the operation of the family farm, Savicki’s Farm on Route 12. Walter continued running the dairy farm with his brother, Roman, for many decades. Later, along with his daughter Jane and his son-in-law Tom Willis, it was transformed into Savicki's Farm Market, which still thrives today. Walter continued his work on the farm well into his eighties. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Clinton, the Dairymen’s League, Cornell Cooperative Extension, and a proud member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA). He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and was an avid Syracuse University and Buffalo Bill’s Fan. He also enjoyed many breakfast and lunch outings and many excursions with his extended family.



Surviving are his three daughters and sons-in-law; Jane and Thomas Willis of Remsen, Sarah and Thomas Hullar of Vernon, Mary and Garrett Anderson of Liverpool; his grandchildren, Christopher and Stacey Willis of New Hartford, Kara and Kevin Keeley of Remsen, Andrew Willis of Westmoreland, Jocelyn and Peter Lin of Canastota, Jessica and Dave Killian of Marcellus, Janice Hullar of Vernon, Sam Anderson of Liverpool; great grandchildren; Jordyn and Ryan Willis, Eli, Nathan and Emma Keeley, Ava, Brooke, Chloe and Clara Lin, Elizabeth Killian and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 



He was predeceased by three sisters; Helen Brockett, Stella Lopata, Alice Balch and five brothers; Henry, Edward, Stanley, Roman and Albert Savicki.



Services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 10:00 am from the R.P. Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton, NY 13323. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Clinton.



Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
