Sandra G. Love 1939 – 2022 Kingsport, TN/Clinton, NY – Sandra G. Love, 82, of Kingsport, TN, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, peacefully with her family at her side. In Aurora, Illinois, Sandra was born on January 13, 1939, to Dr. A. Edward II and Elizabeth (Carpentier) Gay. She was raised in Lockport, NY, and spent half of her life there in what she considered her Camelot. Sandra graduated from Lockport Senior High School in 1957 and then attended college to become a dental hygienist. She worked in her father's dental office in Lockport for many years. Sandra met the love of her life, Richard K. Love while living in Seattle. On August 17, 1963, they were married in Lockport, sharing a union of 30 years until his passing in 1993. During her married life, Sandra returned to school and earned her Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Dayton. Friends and family often sought her for advice, and a listening ear, because she offered comfort and compassion. While living in Clinton, NY, she was a very active parishioner at St. James Episcopal Church. She ran the children's Sunday school program for several years, was a lay reader, wrote and directed numerous Christmas pageants, and served on the altar guild. She was also involved in many organizations throughout her life, including PEO, Questers Antique Club, and formerly the Lockport Junior Service League. Sandra was also known for her artistic style and enjoyed drawing and painting. Another passion of Sandra's was entertaining family and friends. She was a gracious hostess and made everyone feel welcome in her home. Sandra is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Love-Williams (& Kevin Williams), Clinton, Laura Love (& Michael MacDougall), Kingsport, TN; 6 grandchildren, Nickolas (& Katsuki) Williams, Audra Williams, twins – Kaitlyn and Gwendolyn Williams, Daniel MacDougall, and Seth MacDougall. Also surviving are a sister, Cynthia Wiard, Kingsport, TN, and a brother, Albert E. 'Ted' Gay III, Albany. Mrs. Love's memorial service will be held at St James Episcopal Church in Clinton, with the date and time to be announced. In Sandra's memory, those wishing may donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Funeral Services are entrusted to R.P. Heintz Funeral Service, Inc. 10 East Park Row, Clinton.
