Mary A. Bearer

1942 – 2022

Clinton – Mary A. Bearer, 80, of Clinton, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 6, 2022.

            Mary was born August 25, 1942 in Utica, the daughter of Francis and Mary (Schlager) Bearer.  She was raised and educated in Utica, graduating from Utica Free Academy.  Mary was a fixture with Marine Midland Bank for nearly four decades where she served in an executive leadership position.  Following her departure, she worked as an independent consultant focusing on estate planning.   

            Mary was an avid quilter who took great pride in her work.  She will be remembered by friends and family for her unwavering love, generosity, and fiercely independent personality.

            Mary is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Frances and David Zielinski, Clinton; her niece and nephew-in-law, Amy and Peter Wilcox, Clinton; her nephew and niece-in-law, David and Cecelia Zielinski, Pittsburgh, PA; and her most adored great-nephews and great-niece, Ryan, Joshua, Aidan and Lila.

            Funeral Services, entrusted to R.P. Heintz Funeral Service, Clinton, are being held privately at the convenience of the family.  Interment will take place privately in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Utica.
