1947 – 2022
New Hartford – Russell T. Williams, 75, of New Hartford, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center in New Hartford.
Russell was born September 14, 1947 in Utica, the son of William and Gertrude (Seubert) Williams. He was raised and educated locally, graduating from Whitesboro schools and went on to attend MVCC. On October 4, 1969, Russell married Barbara (Lynn) Culkin in St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford, sharing a union of 53 years. He had been employed with Niagara Mohawk for 38 years, holding several positions throughout his career, until his retirement. Russell attended Mary Mother of Our Savior Church (Lourdes Campus). He was a member and former Treasurer for IBEW. An avid outdoorsman, Russell belonged to Ducks Unlimited and Trout Unlimited. He loved the Adirondacks, and greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Russell is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara (Lynn) Williams, New Hartford; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa Jones, New Hartford, Laura and Sean Greene, Hamburg, NY; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Nicole Williams, Merrimack, NH; 10 cherished grandchildren, Garrett, Colin, Christian, Ethan, Nick, Connor, Claire, Ben, Ryan, and Connor; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Carol Williams, VA, Susan and Douglas Prevette, NC. He is predeceased by a sister, Kathleen Kennelty.
Mr. Williams’ Memorial Mass will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 10:00 am at Mary Mother of Our Savior Church (Lourdes Campus) where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Relatives and friends may call at R.P. Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 10 East Park Row, Clinton, Thursday evening, from 4 – 7 pm.
