Julie (Suppe) Lopata
Clinton – Julie Ann (Suppe) Lopata, 75, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center, New Hartford, with her family by her side.
Julie was born December 14, 1947, in Utica, the daughter of Robert and Mae (Donovan) Suppe. She was raised in Clinton and graduated from Utica Catholic Academy. Julie lived her adult life in Clinton, where she raised her three sons, as well as babysat for many children through the years. On December 19, 2002, Julie married Mike Lopata. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and loved spending time at camp, and at Raquette Lake. Her greatest joy was being with her family, which made all of these things special.
Julie is survived by her husband, Mike Lopata, Clinton; her three sons, Donnie (& Lianne) Adams, North Greenbush, Scott (& Cheryl) Adams, Clinton; Kyle (& Shelley Majka) Adams, Liverpool; her stepdaughters, Meredith (& Joe) O’Brien, Maryland, Courtney Lopata Dreimiller; her grandchildren, Julia, Janey, and Jack Adams, Cassi and Caleb Adams, Sydni and Graci Dreimiller, and Alie and Colin O’Brien; her sister, Mary Donovan, Clinton; her brother, Tim (& Susan) Suppe, Florida; her nieces and nephews, CB Rogers, Mandy Rogers, Cimmy Alberto, Doug Suppe, and a special niece, Jeaneen Suppe; as well as great-nieces & great-nephews, step-nieces and step-nephews and their families. Julie is also survived by her dear friend, Barbara Costello, Clinton. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother-in-law, Pat Donovan.
Mrs. Lopata’s funeral will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at R.P. Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 10 East Park Row, Clinton, Thursday evening, from 5 – 7 pm.
