Alma M. “DeDe” Brady

1932 – 2023

CLINTON – Alma M. “DeDe” Brady, 91, of Clinton, passed away Thursday evening, August 24, 2023, at the Oneida Extended Care Facility.

DeDe was born May 22, 1932 in Utica, NY, the daughter of William and Helen (Nester) Bush. She was a graduate of Clinton Central High School. On November 3, 1956, DeDe married Dennis J. Brady in St. Mary’s Church, Clinton sharing a union of almost 67 years. For a short time, DeDe had been employed with the Post Office in Franklin Springs. She then enjoyed babysitting for her grandsons. DeDe was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Clinton. She was a fan of the Fritz Polka Band; she enjoyed knitting for family and baking (especially pies and cookies) for everyone.

DeDe is survived by her beloved husband, Dennis Brady, Clinton; three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Diane Brady, Clinton, John and Yvonne Brady, Clinton, Douglas Brady, Deansboro; Mary (Mrs. Joseph) Brady, Deansboro; seven grandsons, Daniel (Molly), Adam (Joe), Brian, Jamieson (fiancée, Elizabeth), Patrick (Cally), Matthew (Shannon), Sean (fiancée, Lexi); a brother-in-law, Jim Brady, Latrobe, PA. Also surviving are 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. DeDe is predeceased by her son Joseph in 2008, as well as by her 2 sisters, Helen Ritzel and Betty Maxam; by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Margaret Furgal.

Mrs. Brady’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at R.P. Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 10 East Park Row, Clinton from 5 – 7, Tuesday evening.
