Debra (Curtis) Lane Fowler
1951 – 2023
Clinton – Debra (Curtis) Lane Fowler, 72, of Munnsville, formerly of Clinton, passed away unexpectedly, August 28, 2023 as a result of a car accident.
Debbie was born May 17, 1951, in Rochester, NY, the daughter of Ron and Mary Curtis. She was raised and educated in Clinton, graduating from Clinton Central High School in 1969. She was given a wonderful life of opportunities and love. Debbie was a devoted mother to her special son, Geoffrey Lane, enjoying his amazing spirit through his journey. She ensured the best life for him, learning outside activities, travel, interaction with everyone, and staying involved. Geoffrey passed away in 2017. On June 16, 2007, Debbie married George Fowler, a treasured and devoted husband that was her best friend and she loved dearly, greatly enjoying their life together. Debbie has many places of employment through the years, including cleaning houses and babysitting, working for Central association for the blind, the Red Onion Restaurant, Pet Supply Plus, Book Packing Co., Steinbach’s, Hess Dept. Store, JCPenney, Dollar General, where her boss, Jess Platt, was her dear friend. Remember the “Cookie Lady” and all the special friends who received them. Debbie loved work and kept busy. She also loved crafts, travel, music, camping, nature, baking, taking care of her family and friends and her pets, most recently, Toby and Mattie. She had very special memories of all the Rome Group, skiing, picnics, our dad’s harmony, and the Marvin Street Gang, dear friends in the Garden Homes Park. Also of her co-workers, camp friends, caregivers, and all the special people Geoff and her met on her journey.
Debbie is survived by her beloved husband, George Fowler; her stepsons, Curt & Nikki Fowler, and their children, Chloe and Dante; Alan & Kelly Fowler, and their children Charlie and Sawyer; siblings, Albert, Phillip, Sylvia, Joseph, Lori Ann, Lisa Marie, and Willard and their families; nephew and niece, Jamie Allanson and Katie Ellis and family; the Lane families; and special friends, Joe Gorea and Marie Grasso and families. Besides her son, she is predeceased by a sister Leslie and a niece, Bethany.
Funeral services, entrusted to R.P. Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 10 East Park Row, Clinton, will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place privately in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland. Those wishing may donate to Spring Farm Cares in Debbie’s memory.
