My sincere condolence to the Gorrigan family. I worked with John and had respect and understanding of what type of person he was. He loved his Notre Dame team. Every friday the radio would be playing their songs. He had a tremendous sense of humor. That laugh and his deep voice. John, rest in piece. I will never forget you. May god be with you.

My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of John Terrence Corrigan. Like many other commenters, we met through our love of ND football. and I'm happy to have attended many games with him. One in particular was the Orange Bowl, when we all stayed with Marty Callahan, several hours north of the game. I never laughed so much, or so hard, for so long, as I did for those few days.
Rest in Peace, John(Terry)! "Over the bar, PeeWee!"

I cannot begin to express the sadness that we feel upon hearing of John’s passing. We will be forever grateful for the friendship the laughs, love, joy in victory and agony in defeat that we shared. The countless phone messages left on the answering machine after Notre Dame victories will be cherished forever. One in particular my son (Michael David) recalled the other day. We were staying in Elkhart Ind. At the luxurious Red Roof inn and Conference Center. After the Irish had defeated Michigan in 2012. 13-10. We get back from the game and play the message. Happy Thanksgiving 13-10. Merry Christmas 13-10 Happy Ground Hogs Day 13-10 Happy Flag Day 13-10 and on and on. Then ended it with his signature “Woody Woodpecker laugh. Thank you so much for sharing your life and love of the Irish with us.
Sincerely Michael and Tess (aka Trish) Brown and family☘️ GO IRISH!

I am very fortunate to have had Mr. John T. "Jack" Corrigan as a friend. Twenty-five years ago, when I had to give a speech, Pop suggested that I call Jack for a quote from Rockne, Leahy, or Holtz. Corrigan was delighted and told me this:
"You have a sense of purpose. Successful people have a sense of purpose. They understand what they are trying to do. When you remember your sense of purpose, it's easy."
- Knute Rockne
Mr. Corrigan had a sense of purpose. He loved his family, friends, and faith. He was very proud of his Irish heritage. He was proud to be an American, and to have served in The United States Marine Corps. And, of course, he loved Notre Dame.
Mr. Corrigan was a historian and a wonderful storyteller with a great sense of humor. He would have you in tears with his stories - "Why the Rocky Mountains exist," "Lock my Jaws," and "Zachary's Disease" - to name a few.
Mr. Corrigan was a Great Man and friend. "You did a bang-up job, Johnny," and I love you!

I loved Mr. Corrigan so much! He and my Dad, Dave Brown, were lifelong friends, so I had the great fortune of listening to many entertaining stories over the years, lovingly embellished each time by both of them. John T. had an impressive memory for detail in addition to his hilarious sense of humor. He had an encyclopedic knowledge and recall of every statistic from every Notre Dame game in history! I had the wonderful pleasure of driving out for several Fighting Irish games with him, and he kept us in stitches the whole time. My fondest memories of Mr. Corrigan, though, are when he, his brother, Mr. Moore, and my Dad came to visit me in Ireland in 2001. I was teaching in England at the time, but as proud Irish Catholics, we met in Shannon and travelled the Irish countryside together, visiting the Cliffs of Moher and many castles and pubs. I wish I had recorded the conversation because it was pure comedy, listening to their side-splitting banter, mixed with moments of terror when we realized (again) that we were driving on the wrong side of the road!
There is a special place in heaven for Mr. Corrigan, a man of strong faith and conviction, and I am sure he will forever be rooting for the Fighting Irish from on high. God bless him.
