Edith R. Drew, 90, of Franklin Ave., passed away peacefully with her sons by her side on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. She was born in Clinton on February 14, 1933, a daughter of the late Frederick Raymond and Harriet (McPherson) Restle and was a 1951 graduate of Clinton Central School. She then worked as a secretary for Household Gas and Hamilton College, before meeting her husband and starting their family.

On October 26, 1963, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clinton, Edith was united in marriage to William L. Drew. He predeceased her in 1974.

Edith was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clinton, where she was also the Parish secretary for over 20 years, until her retirement in 1995. She was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles but most of all she enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends.

Surviving are her sons; Michael Drew and John Drew, of Clinton; grandson, Brandon Drew, of Oneida; Nieces, Deborah Delaney, of Utica, Susan Delaney-Ellis, of Clinton, Kathleen Delaney, of Utica and a great-nephew; Alex Delaney.

She was predeceased by her sister, Esther Delaney and brother, Frederick R. Rastle, Jr.

In keeping with Edith’s wishes, services and interment in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.

Edith’s family would like to thank Tina M. Cuda, FNP. and the ICU staff at Wynn Hospital for all their kindness, caring and compassion shown to Edith.
