Randolph G. Koba, 76, of Vernon Center, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 26, 2025.

He was born May 25, 1948, in Utica, a son of the late Julius A. Koba and Lorraine (Peters) Montasano. After graduating from Clinton High School, He was drafted and served in Vietnam from 1968 until 1970 with the 34th Transportation Company, 3rd Army Division.

Randolph's family was at the center of his life. He married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Susan (Gawlik) Koba, on October 3,1970 and together they built a beautiful family, welcoming two daughters.

Randolph was employed several years for the Davey Tree Company, Clinton, and the Town of Vernon Highway Department until his retirement, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and meticulous attention to detail. He was more than just an employee; he had an innate ability to connect with people, often taking the time to listen and lend a hand to those in need. His compassion extended far beyond the tools of his trade, embodying a spirit of generosity that touched the lives of many. Randolph was a man deeply rooted in the values of honor, service, and community. As his co-worker and friend Garrett would say, "He was a good man."

An avid outdoorsman, Randolph had a passion for fishing, landscaping and hunting, relishing the tranquility of nature and teaching his girls the skills he had honed over the years. His favorite place to be, was spending summers on Onieda lake, at the family camp. He took great pride tending his vegetable garden, fruit trees and well-manicured lawn.

Despite the numerous challenges posed by his lengthy battle with cancer, Randolph faced each day with a brave heart, inspiring those around him with his resilience and unwavering positivity. Even through pain and discomfort, his humor lit up the room, reminding everyone of the power of hope and the importance of cherishing each moment.

Surviving is his wife, Susan, his daughters; Jacquelyn Koba - Paquette & Sean Paquette, of Boonville Samantha Koba, of Berkshire, his sisters, Wanda (Donald) Stockbridge, Brenda (Mark) Knoeller, Julie Ann Hewitt, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother Steve Koba, parents Julius A. Koba and Lorraine (Peters) Montasano & grandparents, Meniss and Josephine Peters.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.

Rest in peace, Randy. Your legacy of strength, resilience and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
