Obituary of John Barry Bridgett

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

John B. Bridgett, 64, of Rochester, NY, formerly of New Hartford, passed away on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at Rochester General Hospital.

John was born in New Hartford on November 22, 1953, the son of the late Charles and Rita (Barry) Bridgett. He was a graduate of New Hartford High School. John was employed by Honda for over thirty years, most recently Gerber Honda. John’s personality and sense of humor were infectious. He always knew how to put a smile on your face and make you laugh regardless of the situation at hand. He was an avid skeet shooter and hunter and enjoyed spending time with his friends whose needs he always placed ahead of his own.

John is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Kate Bridgett, his children, Michael Bridgett and Alexis Bridgett of Duxbury, MA; and LCDR Kelly (Bridgett) Carmack, USN and Jonathan Carmack, of Washington, DC, along with three grandchildren Flynn, Avery, and Colin Bridgett.

Mr. Bridgett’s funeral will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:30 pm at the R.P. Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton.  Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.  Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 12 – 2:30 pm, prior to the service. There will be a Celebration of Life / Irish Wake at the Killabrew Saloon in New Hartford from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly suggest an “In Honor” donation on behalf of John, to Wounded Warrior Project.  https://fundraise.woundedwarriorproject.org/rtt/Fundraising/individual/In-Memory-of-John-B-Bridgett1.
