Elizabeth Ann Lester   1951 - 2018

 

Binghamton – Elizabeth “Betty Ann” (Clifford) Lester, 66, of Binghamton, formerly of Raleigh, NC and Clinton, NY, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the James G. Johnson Memorial Nursing Home in Johnson City, NY.

            Betty Ann was born December 26, 1951 in Utica, NY, the daughter of John Jay and Betty (Kline) Clifford.  She was raised and educated locally.  Betty Ann had been employed as a CNA at nursing homes in Raleigh, NC.  She was also involved with AA, helping those in need with their recovery.  Betty will always be remembered for her nurturing nature, even continually checking on other patients when at the nursing home. Although, she enjoyed teasing and joking with her family and friends as well.

            Betty Ann is survived by two daughters, Allison Lester (& Brian), Binghamton, Lacy (& James) Niles, Binghamton; a son, Adam (& Tricia) Peterson, Monaca, PA; four grandchildren, Cameron and Brianna Lester, Jaiden and Lilly Niles.  She is also survived by three brothers, Mike (& Cathy) Clifford, Omaha, NE, John Jay Clifford, Palm Springs, FL; Donald Clifford, Clinton, NY.  Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Paul Clifford, and a sister, Ellen Roberson.

            A Memorial Mass will be held for Betty Ann on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton.  Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Local Arrangements have been entrusted to R.P. Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 10 East Park Row, Clinton.

            Those wishing may donate to your local Hospice facility in Betty Ann’s memory.
