Obituary of Margarete E. Wentz

Utica - Margarete E. Wentz, 79, of Utica, formerly of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at her home.

           Margarete was born on December 19, 1938, in Kircheim unter Tech, Germany, the daughter of Franz Anton and Hedwig (Raichle) Walz.  She was raised and educated in Germany, studying art in college.  Margarete was married in Germany and moved to America in 1966, where she made her home in Clinton and raised two daughters and a son.  She became a CNA, and was employed with the Lutheran Homes in Clinton.  On February 14, 1990, Margarete married Paul C. Wentz, in Whitesboro and the couple made their home in Utica.  She had been a member of the New Apostolic Church in Deerfield.

            Margarete is survived by her husband, Paul Wentz, Utica; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Alexandra and Wayne Davis, Binghamton, Beatrice and Todd French, Norwich; her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Lia Edick, Clinton; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Danielle, Brandon, Kelsey, Kristen, Zachary, and Victor; five great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Lillian, Maya, Kavi, and Elijah.  She is predeceased by a sister, Lore, and a brother, Erich.

            In keeping with Margarete’s wishes, there are no public services.  Arrangements are entrusted to the R.P. Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 10 East Park Row, Clinton.

            Those wishing may donate to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. in Margarete’s memory.
