Beverly W. Geary 1934 – 2018
CLARK MILLS – Beverly W. Geary, 84, of Clark Mills, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at home with her family by her side.
Beverly was born August 20, 1934 in Gloversville, NY, the daughter of Floyd G. and Mary (McGowan) Wilkins. She was raised and educated in Albany and a graduate of Vincentian Institute. She went on to Maria Regina College in Syracuse receiving an Associate’s degree in Religious Studies and later went to SUNY IT in Utica, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Studies. On September 20, 1958, Beverly married Dwayne Geary at Sacred Heart Church in Albany, sharing a union of nearly 60 years. Beverly had been employed with Utica State Hospital and also with the NYS Worker's Compensation Board. She was also self-employed, selling the clothing line “Beeline Fashions”. Beverly was active in the “Charismatic Renewal”, and was a current member of the Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills. She was a member of the Malsan Jones VFW Post 7393 Ladies Auxiliary, New York Mills. Beverly greatly enjoyed travelling with her family and in later years continued with her husband. She had visited every state in the U.S. with the exception of North Dakota. She and her husband would spend their winters in Arizona.
Beverly is survived by her beloved husband, Dwayne Geary, Clark Mills; two daughters, Debra Paternoster (& fiancé, Joe Wuest), Vernon Center, Diana (& Walter) Weydig, Groveland, Florida; a grandson, Anthony (& Janelle) Paternoster, Penfield, NY; & Joe’s three children, Emily, Richard, and Amy Wuest. She is predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Duane Wilkins.
Mrs. Geary’s Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Church in Clinton where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Beverly was a parishioner of the Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills, and their Altar Rosary Society will be praying the Rosary in her memory at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s (due to renovations taking place at Church of the Annunciation). Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Paris Hill. There are no public calling hours.
